Lazy Sunday

A relaxing, yet fun day today. Earlier in the week, we invited our coordinator and translator to come to our apartment today so we could cook them lunch. They’ve never had Mexican so we took it upon ourselves to give them their first experience. Yes, two Americans in Kazakhstan cooking Mexican. The meal consisted of beef and chicken fajitas, chicken quesadillas, black beans, tortilla chips and salsa, and apple pastries for dessert. It was a hit. After about 2 hours of eating and chatting, we called it a day and made plans to meet at 9:45 tomorrow to see our boy. It was still a little chilly today, so we decided to stay in. After about 4 episodes of Sex and the City (we’re now at the end of Season 4) it was time for dinner. Out comes the Mexican for round 2! Full again, we decide to play some cards. Rummy and then War. You read it right…war. Jason made a crazy comeback to win the first game of war that either of us has ever finished. From there we moved on to checkers. Michelle forfeited that one. Enough is enough! We look forward to tomorrow when we can see the big man once again. Today marks our 3 week anniversary of being here…we are shocked at how fast time has gone.
